Your Sclerotherapy Procedure

Sclerotherapy is generally an in-office treatment, but can be performed at an outpatient surgical facility, if necessary. Sclerotherapy treatment can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. The Sclerotherapy injection is administered into the underlying varicose veins or spider veins. This sclerosant solution begins dissolving the targeted veins after treatment. Over time, the entire vein pattern is broken up, resulting in smoother-looking skin.

Sclerotherapy may be combined with additional laser vein treatments, as well as skin care procedures to improve complexion, such as laser skin rejuvenation, laser acne treatment, or laser skin tightening.

Frequent walking is encouraged in subsequent weeks to maintain proper vein function. You can typically resume your daily routine immediately after completing your Sclerotherapy treatment.
